Hispanic Heritage Month Kicks Off, MiM Leadership to Speak at Techqueria Summit y Más!
Your weekly dose of inspo, opportunities, and all things MiM.

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month, jefas! Did you know that according to an NBC News report, Latinas represent over 9% of the U.S. population but account for only 4.9% of entry-level corporate positions, making Latinas the most underrepresented group of women at the start of their careers?
We at Mujeres in Marketing are dedicated to supporting Latinas during every step of their careers. Whether you’re a student who is just beginning their professional journey or are already a seasoned professional, we are here to support you year-round, throughout your professional journey. We believe in the power of networking, of amplifying our voices and highlighting opportunities for nuestra comunidad because when one of us rises, we all rise. We are so proud of this community that we have built together and we celebrate you today and always.

Exciting news: Mujeres in Marketing founder, Ashley Rivera Mercado will be part of Techqueria’s Virtual Summit where she will be leading a powerful session: "Rooted & Recognizable: Building a Personal Brand That Reflects Your Culture, Community, and Career Vision."

MiM Head of Partnerships & Sponsorships, Laura Camila Rivera will also be hosting an exciting talk, "Creative Intelligence: Leveraging AI Tools for Meaningful Messaging." This FREE virtual event will take place from October 1-3 and was created to empower Latiné professionals in tech, connect us with inclusive companies, and celebrate our thriving comunidad.

Cardi B’s Marketing Strategy is a Genius Ode to NYC Hustle Culture
In a bold and frankly hilarious move, Cardi B has added 3 Courtroom editions of her album, Am I the Drama. These covers feature the viral courtroom memes from Cardi’s recent trial where she was found not liable for assault in civil court. Most people would not take a court victory and turn it into a marketing opportunity but that’s the genius of Cardi B’s marketing cycle, seizing on opportunity while everyone everyone is still sending meme’s of Cardi’s reactions on the stand.
The marketing strategy didn’t just stop at amplifying one viral moment. In true Cardi style, she has proven why she is one of the savviest artists of our time, literally taking it to the streets to promote her album in a strategy that is without a doubt an ode to the New York hustle culture that raised her.
